An undulating 9.5K road race along the country roads, starting at 11.00 am from Newent Community School. The route leads out onto the scenic country lanes of Newent, past the International Birds of Prey Centre on the outskirts of Cliffords Mesne, before looping back to Newent where the race continues onto Foley Road, the largest cul-de-sac in Europe, through the town centre, where many buildings date back to the 13th century, past the half timbered Market House (built in 1668), finally returning to the finish line at the School. A beautiful, newly designed, bespoke medal and gift for all finishers. Check out our Facebook event to chat with other entrants, and receive the latest updates.  We look forward to seeing you in November.

The generous contributions of our local sponsors have helped us to put on this event - please click through to see them below.

If entrants injure themselves warming up or decide not to take part in between registering and the start of the race, please let either a Marshal or Registration know as soon as possible. (It saves Mandy getting more grey hair trying to track down ‘missing’ runners!).
After the Event
After the event, please remove any muddy footwear before entering Freedom Leisure. The Awards Ceremony will take place in the Gym after the race with prizes awarded for overall male and female winners, first local male and female, and first place age category winners. All finishers will receive a bespoke medal (it’s an absolute cracker this year, designed by Newent Runner Yvonne Featherstone) with a gift to remind you of the day.

  Newent Nine 2015
I'd just like to say how much I enjoyed the race on Sunday. Thanks! Really well organised and a lovely route. Well done all in the Newent running club!  One for the diary next year, too. - D
Very well organised, a nice challenging course and loads of signs and marshals....who encouraged us all the way. Stunning medal and buff head scarf.  Well done Newent - loved it and will be back next year to conquer those 'elevations' again! - ND
I just wanted to feedback on the race today and praise all involved for putting on such a good run for all of us who took part or watched. As a runner, the race was testing but good fun and the organisation and marshalling was excellent. To be personally thanked when collecting the medal to the smooth registration was superb and I wish you and all the members of the club success at future Newent 9 events. I for one will definitely be signing up again next year. Please pass on the thanks from the 4 of us who took part from Glos Running club at DW - MW
Just wanted to congratulate everyone who made today such a great race. By far the best I've ever entered. Great and plentiful marshals, water when it was really needed, awesome medals and delicious cake.....thank you  - RP
A few of our girls came to your event at the weekend and we wanted to say how well it was run and how much we enjoyed it. The race was challenging but well mapped out and extremely well marshalled.  The medal and the buffer were excellent rewards.  Your cake store was great and your hospitality awesome.  We wanted to thank you very much and let you know that if you planned to do this again that we would love to support the event again.  - SH, Lady Runners of Cheltenham
Thanks very much for a great race today. The organisation was spot on and the Marshals were very supportive. The course was challenging and made the tea and cake at the finish all the better! The Buff was a great idea too.  A great day! - CR
Thanks for a great inaugural Newent 9 - it was hard but the gorgeous medal made up for it! - TL
