It was a quiet Easter weekend for Newent Runners. Katie Cook, Carol Loade and Sharon Smith made the trip out to Westonbirt for the Easter 10k.
Katie came home with a PB for the distance, 1:08:40. Sharon was the next member of Team Tango home, recording a 1:13:57, followed by Carol who finished in 1:18:00.
Emily Trenwith took part in the Newport Riverfront Parkrun and recorded her best ever parkrun time, 29.45. It was the first time she has ever gone below thirty minutes.
Chris Barber was supposed to be doing The Hanham Horror off road 10k at Bristol, but car trouble put paid to those plans. Some personal bests were set in demolishing a pack of Hot Cross buns that day though.
Clive Jones led a Sunday Social, which was reasonably well attended. Yvonne Featherstone and Heather Roberts clocking up twenty miles in the morning.
Megan James, Andrew Callard, Emily Trenwith, Frances Evans, Karen Apted, Maggie Pettit, Lynn Latham, Emma Blewitt and Helen Knowles were the other attendees.
Newent Parkrun could best be described as soggy. I enjoyed it! Sixty Eight runners braved the damp and slippery ground. Matt Cole and Simon Barker achieved top ten places, with James Griffiths finishing close behind in eleventh.
Volunteer positions were filled by Karen Apted, Kerry Cawkwell, Adrian Dover, John Featherstone, Helen Knowles, Lynn Latham and Maggie Pettit.
