Running clubs aren’t just for the very speedy, or experienced athletes – Newent Runners welcome people of all abilities. If you would like to start running but aren’t sure how, one of our 0-5k courses is an ideal place to start. If you’ve been running for a while and would like to improve, why not try our improvers’ course?
Beginners – 0-5k
Newent Runners have successfully run a number of 0-5k courses, with attendees varying from those that have never run, to some that used to run but haven’t in years. Many of our “graduates” have stayed with the club, some now enjoy regular social runs and parkruns, some others have done events, half marathons and even ultra-marathons! This course starts from the very beginning, with no running or athletic experience required – visit this page, or our Facebook group for details of our next course starting later in 2018.
Improvers – 5-10k
This course is principally designed for people who already run small distances twice a week or more, ideal if you’ve just completed a 0-5k course and would like to go further. It is an improvers’ course rather than a beginners course, so you should already be able to run 5k in under an hour – details of our next course will be posted here when a date is confirmed.
